STVDIO Custom Ventura 60 “Goldie”:

“It has been my belief for quite some time that Trev Wilkinson knows more about Vintage guitars and how to improve on them than nearly anyone on the planet. My STVDIO Ventura 60 is a case in point. Not only is it a true work of art but it is in fact the synergy born from intelligent design (read the specs). With three custom P-90s this baby can speak several languages from vintage, liquid, and bell-like clean to “plug-your-ears-children” profane all with the flick of the 5-way. My Ventura 60 makes me feel like exploring because I don’t sense any limitation. Truly a “one-of-a-kind” guitar and it’s mine…the only way you’ll ever get it is if you pry it from my cold dead fingers…….Oh, The weddings on Friday!”

Fret-King Eclat Standard

"Thanks Fret-King! My Eclat (Eclair) is the most expressive classic set-neck single cut I've ever played. Clearly head and shoulders above all the others in its class. The 'Vari-coil™' allows me to blend the pickups in any percentage I want. Super cool forearm chamfer cuts down on right hand fatigue. And it's absolutely gorgeous!"

The strings of choice are DR Dragon Skins electric 9-42, DR Zebra acoustic-electric 10-47.

"I was at the Musik Messe in Frankfurt Germany 2002 and was talking with the guys at DR Strings. They gave me some strings to try. So, I put a set on one of my  guitars just to see how long they would last. In October of that same year I had the guitar re-fretted and that was almost 10 months later and the DR strings I put on were still alive and well. The true test!"

Below are front and back photos of Mick's Vintage Icon series version of the famous guitar "The Fool" once owned by Eric Clapton and went through Todd Rundgren, Jackie Lomax, and others. In 2000 it was auctioned at Sotheby's to an anonymous buyer for $150,000. The buyer sold it several years later for an estimated $500,000. Now, we don't know who owns it.
